Profile
My law practice is limited to the representation of individual consumers and businesses in Chapter 13, Chapter 7, Chapter 11 and Chapter 12 bankruptcy cases, as well as criminal defense, consumer cases and civil disputes, business transactions, and estate planning I accept on a case-by-case basis. My interest in bankruptcy and consumer protection is the result of seeing the financial effect sudden loss of income, increase in expenses, or both as a result of life events has on families and individuals, and from living in a community that has experienced dramatic unemployment, underemployment, and economic setbacks since the recession of 2007 – 2008, creating situations where individuals in the community cannot help finding themselves in financial hardship and oftentimes with no alternative but to seek relief and protection from their creditors under the Federal Bankruptcy Laws.
My experience in bankruptcy has allowed me to distill the process down to an efficient, web-based procedure that does not require you to make a lot of office visits. You are already working on the first step, which is to explore this and our companion bankruptcy website for information. Our office is equipped to efficiently handle your bankruptcy case, enabling you to obtain a “fresh start” with a minimum of disruption to your employment and family life.
The cornerstone of my success is the quality relationship that I maintain with my clients and my devotion to safeguarding their rights. I believe that my practice is distinguished by my continued dedication to my clients’ case even after the bankruptcy case has been filed, or after the dissolution matter, dispute, or criminal matter has been resolved. I treat my clients with integrity and respect for their needs, goals, and objectives. My goal in every case is to treat all my clients with the same dignity and respect that I would hope to receive if I were the client and they were the attorney.
Before I was an attorney, I worked for a corporate trade show contractor in Los Angeles and Denver and earned my bachelor’s degree in English from Lake Forest College. In 2003, I went to law school in Texas and earned my law degree from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio.
I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and later pursued my law degree at St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas, where I had the honor of serving on the Law Journal. I share my life with my wonderful wife and our three children, enjoying every moment we get to spend together, whether we're hiking, fishing, or camping. Our family adventures wouldn't be complete without our beloved pets, a Catahoula/Newfoundland mix and a Shi-Tzu/Poodle, who add even more joy and excitement to our outings. Alongside my family activities, I have developed a passion for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, where I've proudly achieved the rank of purple belt. More recently, I've embarked on the musical journey of learning to play the guitar, adding another layer of fulfillment to my personal life.
I am a member of The National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, The American Bankruptcy Institute, The Colorado Consumer Bankruptcy Association, The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, The Federalist Society, an inactive member of the Texas Bar Association, The Colorado Bar Association, The Seventh Judicial District Bar Association of Western Colorado, and an allied attorney with Alliance Defending Freedom, and I am admitted to practice law in the State of Colorado, Federal District Court for the District of Colorado, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
